The Lighthouse's Tale

A very sad song—this is a story from a lighthouse’s view. It tells of the lighthouse and its relationship with its keeper. The lighthouse represents God. It sees all, and it spreads it light for people to follow. The keeper grew very close to it as he was with the lighthouse day in and day out.

Then the keeper met a very beautiful woman, and they fell profoundly in love. One night as she went out to sea, her ship crashed under the punishing power of a storm. She died and was washed up to shore where the keeper found her. So in love with her, he climbed the lighthouse and leaped off hoping to see her again.

It’s a love song that teaches a lesson. I know it is a cliché, but life is truly short and unexpected. When you are in love with someone, you cannot let that turn mediocre. You cannot let things go unsaid and undone. At any minute, we have all learned, anything can happen.

Treat every moment like it will be the last you will have. Let your love grow past the mindless troubles of the average relationship. Do not let your worries focus on things that are meaningless—it is a waste of time. Treat people with care, treat yourself with respect, and treat the one you love unconditionally.

Today’s challenge: to love.
