Dirt Blues (Click link or picture to listen)

A band based out of the music capital—Athens, GA. Root Spirits is a two-piece, but not for swimming.

They have a heavy blues sound that leaves a gritty taste of All-American dirt in your mouth. Speaking of dirt, featured now is their song “Dirt Blues.”

I want to point out a major reason why this song is good—metaphors. The entire song is wrapped up around the man and the woman as nature. He is comparing a woman to the goddess of our earth—mother nature. In a vague way, I see the song’s ultimate meaning being love is what makes the world go ‘round.

Awkward yet riskily beautiful line—“I think you’re stronger than the dirt.”

Check them out frequently, it has been promised that they will release a new song every week until they get signed. Show some love and support!
